Significance:
Of the two diaries that exist, everyone seems to be interested in The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. On her twelfth birthday, Laura received her diary as a gift from her parents and wrote her first entry that evening. In her last, most private confession written just days before she was found dead, Laura noted: "I'm so afraid of death."

The real lession of this diary is, never put into writing what you do not want others to know.
